Cityscope Developers Seminar

The Cityscope team invite the University of Edinburgh's developer for a morning of tea, buns and discussion  about  the technical ideas behind Cityscope.

The University of Edinburgh’s mission, as you know, is the creation, dissemination and curation of knowledge. Edinburgh Cityscope is a project that will turn the entire city of Edinburgh into an interactive, learning environment, accessible to everyone.

Through a smartphone or other mobile device, anyone in Edinburgh, wherever they are in the City, will be able use Cityscope to learn about the rocks beneath their feet, the buildings and trees around them, the history of their location.  And users will be able to carry out their own investigations, upload photos, video and data to make their own contributions to this bank of knowledge.

Funded by the Information Services Innovation Fund, Developers from IS Applications and EDINA are working together on the foundation stage of Cityscope.
